Kitten Vaccine Schedule

The following is a link to the shots (vaccines) that you may consider for your new kitten. Each disease is discussed, as well. There are many conflicting thoughts on kitten vaccines. For example, some vets feel that certain vaccines may cause an increase in cancerous bone tumors at the site of injection. Requirements may be different from state to state. Check with your vet and local animal authorities to see what is suggested and required in your area. Other considerations may be the type of life that your kitten/cat is going to live. Will your animal be exposed to other animals? Will it be strictly an indoor pet? Again, discuss your thoughts with your small animal vet. Vaccine Schedule

The following are some of the core vaccinations that are available for kittens:

  • Feline calicivirus
  • Panleukopenia
  • Rabies
  • Viral Rhinotracheitis
Others may include:
  • Chlamydia
  • Feline Leukemia
  • FIP (recommended for high risk cats only)

Make sure to discuss worming with your vet, too.
