Pantaneiro, Mimoseano, Poconeano, Criollo Horse Gaited Breed

The Pantaneiro originated in the Norther Mato Grosso, in Brazil.

Physical Description

Pantaneiro horses live well in swampy conditions. The breed is resistant to Equine Infectious Anemia. It has been reported that Equine resistance may be to the point of immune. They have long legs. There colors tend to be gray (45%), bay (17%), black and white (13%) and brown (10%). They are not a light breed. Although they have long legs they are not fast in gait, and although they are not a light breed, they do not pull well.

They are an endangered breed.
